Early Voting Locations and Times
What is Early Voting?
Early Voting is defined as “casting a ballot in person prior to Election Day at a location designated by the Supervisor of Elections and depositing the voted ballot in the tabulation system.” The voter uses the same type of voting equipment that is used at the polls on Election Day. In all elections when there is a state or federal office race, early voting is required to be available. Early voting may be offered in county, municipal and other local elections.
When is Early Voting Available?
Here in Volusia County for the Primary Election, Early voting starts at 8:00 am on August 18 and ends at 5:00 pm on August 26. During this period, the Early Voting locations will be open each day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
For the General Election, Early voting starts at 7:00 am on October 27 and ends at 7:00 pm on November 4. During this period, the Early Voting locations will be open each day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Identification Required to Vote F.S. 101.043
Prior to voting, voters shall be required to present a photo and signature identification. Acceptable forms of photo identification include:
- Florida Driver’s License
- Florida Identification Card issued by the Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles
- U.S. Passport/Passport Card
- Debit or Credit Card
- Military Identification
- Student Identification
- Retirement Center Identification
- Neighborhood Association Identification
- Public Assistance Identification
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veteran Health ID
- Concealed Weapons License
- Government-issued Employee ID
Voters can vote at any early voting site within the county when the site is open.
